Legal requirements for home schooling in Arizona are as follows:

  • File a notarized Affidavit with your county, along with a birth certificate if your child is between the ages of 6 and 16.

  • No further testing or reporting required.

Click on BILLS on the left side navigation.

Then in the Search box, enter "home school" as two words (it isn't used as one word in the state documents).

Click on Search and this will bring up a page of bills where the words are used.

It will then be your choice to click on Document or Highlighted.

The highlighted choice is handy because it is easy to see the highlighted text "home school" in the bill.

15-1646. Board of regents and university scholarships

The state public universities under the jurisdiction of the Arizona board of regents shall establish policies which assure fair and equitable access by Arizona students from public, private, charter and home schools to scholarships, including tuition waivers, which are issued solely on the basis of academic merit and for which the universities establish and administer fair and equitable selection criteria. The universities under the jurisdiction of the Arizona board of regents shall report annually to the board information including the number of such scholarships issued on the basis of academic merit to students from public, private, charter and home schools.
